A joint project between Gary Climate Solutions, LLC and Conestoga Energy Partners commenced in 2012. Roughly 150,000 tons of CO₂ are captured annually from the Bonanza BioEnergy plant in Garden City, Kansas. The CO₂ is then transported and injected via a 14-mile Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration-regulated pipeline for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) purposes to the Stewart Field, owned and operated by Samuel Gary Jr. & Associates.
